Our time in Texas

We have spent the last seven months living in West Texas. We always try to make the best of the places we live. We have enjoyed exploring the state and having lots of fun!

For Thanksgiving we ditched the traditional turkey and went to Austin. We had a two hour wait for dinner, but it was delicious and we had a good time chatting while we waited.

Caleb ate 10 pumpkin pancakes and three cinnamon rolls-he is not one for meat.

We went to the Texas Longhorns v. Texas Tech game that evening. All the teachers at Caleb's preschool love the Longhorns, the first thing he learned there was how to make the Longhorns with his hands :) He had been begging to go to a game for months. Our friend Tommy came with us. I know we only have one child but sometimes I feel we need three adults to take care of him. We have always been so lucky to have awesome friends who fill in as "aunties and uncles" since we live so far away from family.

Caleb is such a museum fan. We went to the Texas History Museum in Austin. He could spend all day in museums.

We went to a fun pumpkin patch nearby for Halloween.

We love trying to find things to do in our local community too. Every first Saturday is family art day at the "Chicken Farm" art museum here in town. Caleb has become quite the artist the last couple of months. He prefers to paint two handed, he is very officiant.

John and I celebrated our seven year anniversary at the Sonora Caverns. They are supposedly the most active and beautiful caves in the country.

You can't live in Texas and not go to the Alamo. Caleb loves military history so he loved learning about the battle. He still plays "alamo" with his little military men.

And the river walk. We forgot the stroller and Caleb was so tired we ended up carrying him the whole time.

Caleb loves space, and museums, so we took him out to the Johnson Space Center in Houston, it was actually really cool.

While in Houston we went to the pier to the amusement park and to the other museums downtown.

We have loved our time in Texas and are so grateful to have seen and done so much!
